I and my wife have been SCREAMING, FIGHTING for over four years now. We are now so frustrated that we have EVEN DISCUSSED THINGS LIKE TAKING UP OUR LIVES !!! I really mean it. For both of us, our career is the single most important thing.
We had decided to wait for our next step in life like having a kid or putting in a big investment till we both at least have a job. Inspite of both of us having Masters degress from US universities, we are both suffering - me languishing in a filthy job and my wife on H4 - for the past 5 years !!! She is now more than 35 making it difficult to have kids etc...
I don't have the choice of going back to my home country due to many other personal reasons. I just don't know what to do... I am losing my sanity.

I am really sorry to hear your situation...
I am not sure whether you have US born kid or not.. but I have read somewhere that if mother has US born kid, she can stay here in US on Kids account. You might want to check this...

Well numbersusa are against any immigration and they will always use illegal immigration as the vehicle to couch and attack any form of immigration. Their ranks consist of both democrats and GOP. Generally those who are threatened by any sort of immigration. Union workers in MI would be group in sync with numbersusa. So also would be buidling workers where there is strong competition from Hispanic workers walking accross the border.
I personally think businesses have been promised action on issues after the election. If not by now businesses would have entered the fray. H1B and skill bill and also the agjobs will be definitely passed due to pressure from big businesses. Economy is strong and they are not able to fill positions.

It is correct. We are talking about both kinds of kids. And saying that not having greencard affects the quality of life for the family.
Agreed. better might have been,

If you think it is that ridiculuous, then you should tell the core members that. They did ask us to call him on the last day of LD. There is nothing wrong in writing to him. In fact, you are making a comparison that is not correct.
Actually, it was an exceptional situation. As you are well aware of, we had to get an unanimous consent if the skil bill were to pass in the LD, so, we needed to have Session's approval. To deflect the situation, he just said that his office hadnt received any positive comments.. When we ended up jamming his phones and gave all the positive comments, what came out of that, nuthing.. he did not budge from his stance.. It was just a ploy and even if the entire US of A had called him, he would not have changed his stance.. He had to score brownie points from his supporters. He knows that the Skil bill will be passed next year, and may be some form of CIR even.. He can then blame it on the democrats and stand for re-election in 2009 with complete support from his supporters..
Its all a gimmick for votes. This is politics, same thing in every country, just more sophisticated here...

According to USCIS previous requirement, a person is required to work for the sponsoring employer for at least one year after obtaining the Green Card. There may be a problem when you want to apply for U.S. citizenship later, if you leave the sponsoring employer in a short period of time after obtaining the Green Card.
The AC-21 rule does not clear the issue of a person who leaves its employer after the I-485 approval, but it is better to take a conservative way to reduce the potential risk later.

Also, AC-21 allows to replace the GC employer to a new employer, but it does NOT change the intent to work for the employer after I-485 is approved.

In addition to completing the action item, set up an appointment with my Congressman for the week after next to push for this provision.
As stated by the more experienced folks involved with this initiative, the bottomline is that any action item should be accompanied by a grass roots effort where all our members should meet with the local congressmen/congresswoman to push for our provisions (in this case visa recapture). Coordinated action items and phone campaigns always help but we should not wait for an action item to talk to the lawmaker offices in our local districts.

My Employer's Inhouse Attorney ( one of big 4 ) says technically EB dependents ( all 1,2,3) must be classified under FAMILY quota. USCIS mis classifies them under EMPLOYMENT quota.
Is he technically correct ?
Since, Most of dependents will not be affected when they are classified under Family quota (as they have AP and EAD).
Can IV possibly consider for push for reclassification of Dependents under Family Quota ? This will reduce backlog.
Please don't take it out of context, I am not trying to hurt any EB dependents, I too have a spouse working part time using beneficiary EAD. This is more of an open question.
