My date will be current next month. But I got fingerprinting notice, and the appointment is on Sep 17th . Does that means will I have to wait until my FP is done to get the approval?. Please suggest me is there any way I can get my FP done prior to the scheduled date. This is my 2nd FP notice. First one was in Feb 2008.

Correct me If I am wrong
out of 45K members let's assume 22.5 K are EB2 and 22.5 K are EB3.
Even If 11.25K (EB2)+11.25K (EB3) = 22.5 K (Total) contributes $25 Each Problems gets solved ... but the catch is ....
Even 11.25 K EB2 members are not contributing because they don't have to as their problem is solved
Even 11.25 K EB3 members are not contributing because they are not sure even with this contribution their problems gets solved.
Many people are saying that EB3 members are not contributing that's why you are lagging etc...
EB3 Members who contributed are feeling the pain because even after contribution they are not getting the results and EB2 members who didn't contributed are getting the results...
Could you elaborate on how the money will solve the problem? If we could make a laundry list of action items and cost for each, we could do an extensive email campaign among all our members and convince them to contribute
More people will contribute if and when they get a clear picture of how the money will work for them

- Since it is such a short notice for 7th July event, who ever is interested from IV may join it. I will join to show support to the Chinese organization for our cause. You are welcome to join too.

In continuation of the post from Nenneo, I had the chance to see Newt Gingrich, ex-speaker of the house and who is currently testing the waters for a possible 2008 Pres. nomination from the GOP. His response, I think, speaks volumes about the type of people the GOP would like to see here.
He indicated that he is totally against illegal immigration and pro legal immigration. But, when it came to students who were pursuing higher education in the US, according to Newt, "is a no-brainer, we get them here, we train and teach them, it does not make sense to let them go. These students should be given a visa as soon as they find a job, as long as they have not committed any felony and especially since the students have been in the US for 2+years it is sufficient time to get to know them and their backgrounds and for them to be assimilated in the US way of life."
My 2-cents to clarify the thinking behind giving more preference to US educated students vs non-US educated ones. This coming from a senior GOP leader.

These discussions about what you and i think about whether Bs or Ms is more important is totally pointless. First off this bill has yet to be brought up for discussion. Secondly any bill bringing any relief is good at this point in time.
We are arguing and debating endlessly about a bill that may never even see daylight. I think the more important thing to do is, try and get this bill to be brought up for discussion.
Simple example. If there are 20 people in the queue ahead of u and a the shopkeeper opens another fresh queue, whether ur part of queue 1 or queue 2 ur still looking at a smaller queue. Who is to say which queue will be longer? Do we have any stats that say out of the 300,000 legals waiting how may have and have not an advanced degree. For all you know the queue with Just the bachelors may end up being shorter. I am sure a LOT of us just on IV have come here on F1 and then went on to get H1s.
Lastly i have a question about SKIL. When you say people with advanced degrees will not be counted against the quota, what EXACTLY does that mean? Does it mean that ppl with advanced degrees who have Not been able to apply for 485 can now apply regardless of PD? OR does it mean that the PD still applies but people who have applied will move quicker as they are not counted against the quota?

My guess is Eb3 India will not be current this year. From other Law firm site I observe that we will see mini version of what happend last year so I guess Eb2 I will be current .. ( Not because I am Eb2 ( I ) ) . Eb3 ROW will be C guys soon..

I did not call them to get the RNs but I got the I-485 checks cashed for my wife and me.
The checks for I-485 for my daughter and the checks for AP and EAD were not cashed though.
But again, looks like, July 3rd 9:03 received by R. Williams, is no more a MIA case.
By the way the receipt date is marked as Oct 10th. Service center is NSC.
I am july 3rd filer and Just got the receipt numbers..Looks like our box is not lost and interestingly my numbers start with LIN even though my 140 processed from SRC.

I will definitely call senator's office and talk and even take appointment. For me the senators nearest office is 150 miles drive one way. But I will do that.
The House representitive's office is less than half a mile's drive. But he is a member of Toncredo's immigration caucus and it is plain useless to talk to them.
The highlighted message is the key to the next step.
At most times you are likely to get such automated responses and message would be ignored unless backed up by lobbying effort. Each campaign is carefully crafted and the strategy is based on our ongoing lobbying efforts.This is why we ask for a focused message and followup instead of sending junk emails (from online petitions) and thinking our work is done after hitting the submit button. It is a waste of time and energy and misleads the community in what they should be doing to get attention to their issues. Sending email is just one tiny step towards the advocacy work. Next step is to call the office and follow up about the email. Tell them you are not satisfied with such a response on an important issue. Tell them that you want to talk to someone about your letter and also wants to meet them in their office as you are a constituent and part of a national organization.
