Agreed. $5000 is about the same amount a single student paid to TVU, the diploma mill. This used to be the price 1 employee paid a fraud DCC for processing a Green card.

Just to remind ourself who we are. We are Highly skilled LEGAL immigrants. It not only means we are skillful but it also means we pay every damn tax which is out there. We pay for welfare. We pay for unemployed. We pay for pensioners. List goes on. We pay fees for every application processed by USCIS ( Labor, I-140,I-485,I-765,I-131 etc etc ). We pay rent. We buy cars. We buy houses. In short, we are nothing but GOLD to this economy.
However, this one department called USCIS is literally toying with us for yrs now as if we are slaves or we are obligated to them. We dont want anyone to do us any favour. We need justice.
Friends - I have self respect and i wasn't born chanting Green Card. I AM going to face them, confront them, demand them to provide justice, if not I want them to REFUND every penny i have paid so far. If this "I AM" becomes "WE", half the battle won. TOGETHER WE STAND, VICTORY/JUSTICE FOR ALL. If you are still hesitant, you made a bad choice of choosing option 2. Please go back to option 1.

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?
Think Positive- that's the first prerequisite for positive things to happen.

My attorney asked just to give one cheque for $745 each for myself and my spouse for I-485, I -131 and I-765. Our applications will be filed today.

What are the tax implications for Aman or other recieving this. We dont want uncle sam to take a cut from something like this. Is there any CPA who can throw some light on this?
Maybe this money can be used to create an expense account which can reimburse Aman and others for their expenses. We got to convince the Core to let democracy in IV work one time to create this account.

Applied July 11th reached 12th NSC. I-140 approved from Texas, 08/12/2007 LUD on I-140. No receipts yet. No idea checks have been cashed or not (attorneys checks)

One of my friend got "Card Production Ordered" email. He is EB2-I, PD Jan 2006, RD- Sep 30 2007, NSC.
Mine is Dec 2005 and still waiting. So what is going on with NSC? Are they also doing the same thing that TSC is doing? latest cases first?

Good to know that you are still working on that lawsuit ( as a covert operation rather than arguing with other IV ians) but that makes everyone of us feel shaky in joining hands with you in this issue as well.
The moment (not the day) your interests will get done you will leave hands in this coalition...... Or are you just trying to exploit/leverage someone's 'English writing Skill' or may be use the "IV platform" to use it in own advantage ??
Look - i've nothing personal with you or against you but i do NOT want to join hands with someone who harbors/nurtures "Divisive Thoughts" in small technical matters like EB2 and EB3 ...

They say that you become what you think most of the time. Do you really think good things about yourself? Try to develop a habit to see silver lining to anything in life...it will take you a long way not only with GC stuff but other issues which we have to deal with day to day.

Thanks sirinme, my job responsibilities are similar in the new job (i.e. same job code classification). My only concern is whether is it legally necessary to file papers to USCIS under AC21 informing of job change now or wait till visa numbers for me becoem current again.

(2) Pledge with honesty
(3) Join a state chapter and make yourself visible and available to IV.

There is no other way to organize 70k or more people where everyone just open threads, discuss and then open new threads and discuss and ..... it goers on
I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.
Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff

Too bad you did not bother reading up on the net before you took your job. I researched what is involved prior to leaving grad school and I knew it was a long wait. Like I said quota is there because of numbers / diversity. US needs programmers from more than just one country.
And its not really a quota since numbers are rolled at the end of the year to oversubscribed countries. Your notion of separate queues derives from your ignorance of how immigration works. Why hasn't anyone challenged the quota in the Supreme Court ?

Mine is EB2, reached July 2nd at 7.55 AM Fedex received by Robin Williams at NSC and I got the check cashed and has receipt numbers but my I140 LUD is not changed. But my I-140 was already approved and it was not concurrent filling. So if its not concurrent filing then I think I140 LUD should not change or not related to 485 receipt notice? Am I right?

FYI, people who sent applications on Jun 22th to NSC and their I-140 were approved at TSC, have not received receipts yet.
NSC is around 10 days ahead TSC issuing receipts.
I would say, July filers be patient.

Was your I-140 approved also at NSC? Maybe that's the reason why you have an NSC receipt. My I-140 was approved from TSC.....

Incorrect
As per law one should have intent to work full-time for the employer (or AC-21 employer) at the time of approval. There is no time period specified.
The intent, of course, can change after some time. Lawyers differs on the duration. Some argue it is 90 days, whereas others suggest 180 days or 1 year.

GCby3000 u wud still apply under Eb1 and Eb2 depending on the job requirement and ur personal skills. It is just that u will be Exempt from the Cap i.e. the yearly quota for GCs, IF you have an advanced degree in the US.
Now you can be an Eb2 even without a masters in the US, if you have outstanding management ability and ur job demands that kind of management skill level. In that case the yearly quota cap would apply to u, but if u have an advanced degree in the US the cap wud not apply to u.
What degrees are considered as advanced degrees in the SKIL bill maybe some on here can clarify. Is it the same definition as the STEM or is it different?
